Stephanie Derstine

As a part of our ongoing mission to improve the Commission for Women, appointed members were surveyed in order to determine some of the motivating factors for members' involvement, as well as the factors contributing to persistence in the CFW. Here are Stephanie Derstine's responses.

What motivated you to join the CFW?
I have been the CFW Coordinator at the LV campus for 7 years as a way to educate and work with the campus community regarding Women's issues.

What do you enjoy most about the CFW?
The way the commission strives to educate and work to resolve women related issues that occur on our campuses.

Which of the CFW’s goals are you most passionate about and would like to take a more active role in?
I am currently a Campus Liaison coordinator. I am passionate about this role as I'm able to bring other campuses together to discuss their own campus events and CFW related issues with all Penn State campuses.

Additional thoughts?
CFW is an instrumental commission that not only resolves women's issues, but tries to identify and resolve issues that will help the overall campus community.

Stephanie Derstine is a library information reservation and service specialist at the Lehigh Valley campus and an appointed member of the CFW.
